Jennifer Lopez has only been dating Casper Smart for six months, but In Touch has learned she’s so head over heels that she’s letting him take over her life — and pushing away the people she cares about the most.
“Jennifer gives 110 percent when she’s this smitten,” a longtime friend tells In Touch. “She’s letting Casper call all the shots and that’s starting to upset some of her friends.”
The self-confessed “hopeless romantic” is so crazy about her 25-year-old boyfriend that she even chose him to choreograph her new tour, leading her close friend and tour manager Fabian Herrera to quit.
“There was no way Fabian was taking orders from a kid,” an insider says. “He thinks it’s a bad move on J. Lo’s part and doesn’t want to be involved.”
Casper also convinced J. Lo to get rid of some longtime staff members at her Hidden Hills, Calif., mansion and alienated the singer’s assistant and friend, Gilly Iyer, by treating her like his own personal slave.
“Casper insisted that Jennifer’s staff call him Mr. Smart and demanded that Gilly get him drinks,” the insider says. Gilly found Casper’s attitude too much, and the insider says Gilly has now gone to work for the singer’s manager, Benny Medina.
While her rep denies that Casper is coming between J. Lo and her staff, even Benny isn’t impressed with J. Lo’s new love. In a recent interview, he admitted that he’s concerned about J. Lo’s inability to sustain a “healthy relationship” and wishes “she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her.”
