Bobby Brown taped an interview with Matt Lauer this morning - for segments on The Today Show that will run Wednesday and Thursday - and made it a priority to defend himself against accusations that his hard-partying lifestyle played a role in the tragic death of Whitney Houston.
"I didn't get high before I met Whitney," Brown says, seemingly blaming HER for HIS problems, although clarifying that he did smoke "weed" and drink prior to their relationship.
But Brown emphasized that he wasn't "the one that got Whitney on drugs at all" and that he feels "terrible" folks think otherwise.
Because, really people, the important thing here is how Bobby Brown feels.
Houston and Brown were married from 1992 to 2007 and are the parents of a daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The singer told Lauer that their one year of filming Being Bobby Brown had a profound affect on their recreational drug use.
"The reality show gave us a wakeup," he says. "We [were] able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other."
When did Bobby last see Whitney? About a week prior to her passing. He said she "looked really well" at the time.
Brown - who pleaded out a DUI arrest just this week in order to avoid jail time - said he was shocked and "hurt" when he learned Houston died with cocaine in her system. At the end of the day...
"I love that woman with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way. We wouldn't have been able to make the most beautiful girl in the world - without love. And that's the truth."

TV host Samantha Harris loves the "profound" experience of motherhood! The Dancing with the Stars alum took part in Saturday's March for Babies walk in Los Angeles. A "longtime supporter" of March of Dimes, Samantha says the money raised will "help all moms, including at-risk women, have healthy full-term pregnancies."
Samantha opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about being a "strong advocate for anti-hunger issues" and "empower[ing] women to have healthy, full-term pregnancies." The mom-of-two also talks about her "completely different" daughters Josselyn, 4, and 15-month-old Hilary, the joys of motherhood, and the possibility of baby No. 3: "Never say never!"

Katherine Heigl is long gone, but Knocked Up is getting a sequel. Sort of.
This is 40 stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, who reprise their roles as Heigl’s sister and brother-in-law from the 2007 hit, in an examination of ... turning 40.
Director Judd Apatow's real-life children, Maude and Iris Apatow, are back for the quasi-sequel as well as the offspring of the nearly-middle-aged couple.
The film, which also features Jason Segel and Melissa McCarthy, chronicles the angst of hitting the big 4-0 as only Apatow can. This is the trailer for This is 40:

On her 'loud' personality: “I am quite loud and bolshie,” she says (British slang for unruly and clamorous). “I’m a big personality. I walk into a room, big and tall and loud.” Indeed. There is no doubt when Adele is in the building. The rule of thumb for protecting one’s vocal cords, she tells me, is: If people are more than an arm’s length away, you shouldn’t talk to them. “But I am like, Wah! Wah! Wah!,” she says, laughing. “It’s really bad.”
On giving up drinking last May: “Don’t like drinking anymore. I think I got it out of my system. D’yaknowhaImean?”
On her vocal troubles: “I’ve been singing properly every day since I was about fifteen or sixteen and I have never had any problems with my voice, ever. I’ve had a sore throat here and there, had a cold and sung through it, but that day it just went while I was onstage in Paris during a radio show. It was literally like someone had pulled a curtain over it.” She flew to London the next morning to see her doctor and was diagnosed with acute laryngitis. After a couple weeks’ rest, she continued her European tour, came to America, and then her voice went again in May. “That was a hemorrhage... a burst blood vessel on my vocal cord. That healed, I did a tour, and then it happened again at my best friend’s wedding on October 1.”
On getting support through her surgery from other artists: “John Mayer had it done at the same time as I did and he really helped me be chilled out about it. Roger Daltrey’s had loads of stuff done; Steven Tyler reached out; Elton John. Lots of artists have had problems with their voices, but you don’t know about it. And they are still singing incredibly well in their 50s and 60s.”
On her six Grammy nominations: “I burst into tears when I found out. And I would love, absolutely love, to win. This record is coming to an end, and that would be the final brick on it.” [gallery=821]

Making a high speed exit, Ryan Gosling was spotted leaving his bandmate's home in Toluca Lake, CA on Saturday (April 28).
“The Notebook” actor kept it casual while sporting a classic white v-neck t shirt, brown loafers and sunglasses as he avoided the nearby shutterbugs before hopping on his motorcycle and speeding off down the California streets.
While women everywhere swoon over the 31-year-old actor's chiseled face and rocking bod, he's recently been nominated for another dignified award based purely on his raw talent.
After previously winning the MTV Movie Award for best kiss and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Love Scene, Gosling is now nominated by Spike TV for biggest ass kicker in the 2012 Guys Choice Awards.
You can catch the show on June 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT to see if this Hollywood hunk takes home the award or if fellow nominee Liam Neeson brings home the cake.
